Celebrating 40 Years in Niskayuna!

Our Purpose

We exist to bring people into an intimate and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, that gives them belonging, meaning and purpose for their lives. We seek to accomplish our purpose through: "Vibrant Worship", "Fulfilling Ministry", "Effective Evangelism", "Genuine Fellowship", and "Fruitful Discipleship".

Who We Are

The Wesleyan Church is an evangelical, Protestant denomination. We offer the good news that faith in Jesus Christ makes possible a wonderful personal relationship with God, a holy life empowered by His Spirit for witness and service and assurance of eternal life in heaven. Our name is in honor of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, whose emphasis on a life of faith, self-discipline, and perfect love is our example.

There are nearly 5,000 Wesleyan churches and missions in over 70 nations worldwide. In the United States and Canada alone, there are approximately 1,700 local congregations.

This We Believe

Wesleyans believe in one God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the Savior of all men and women who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. We believe that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord's Spirit. We believe in the Bible and seek to establish our faith and actions on its teachings. We believe it is God's will for people everywhere to know Him and that the purpose of the church is to tell the world about Church through its worship, witness, and loving deeds.

Ways you can help survivors of the Haiti earthquake.

Prayer for Haiti (taken from Asbury Theological Seminary website)

Almighty God, our Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth, Mighty Fortress, You are our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Though the Earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging we will not fear for you have entered into and overcome human suffering in the suffering of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. We join in the prayers of your people all over the World, interceding in agreement, pleading for your merciful intervention for the sake of your people in Haiti. We believe there is a river whose streams make glad the City of God, and we pray this river of mercy to flow through the streets of Port Au Prince

In your mercy, by your Spirit through your people and in the name of your son Jesus, would you bless the poor, comfort the mourners, rescue the orphans, protect the widows, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, raise the dead, renew the hope, repair the ruins, restore the land, release miracles, send workers, compel relief, and cause Salvation to spring up through the brokenness of the ground as a witness to your compassionate Glory.

Please hear our prayers. Make us into your mercy and show yourself mighty to save.

We agree in these prayers in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
